CUPE Local 2717 represents approximately 200 members who are employed at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre. Our members work in various departments within the facility such as: nursing, dietary, maintenance, housekeeping and recreation.
The executive hold five regular membership meetings per year. The meetings are held at the Royal Canadian Legion usually between the hours of 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM. A notice and agenda are posted one week prior on the CUPE board located in the basement. It is good to be updated with the latest union business and all members are encouraged to attend.
Special membership meetings are also held when urgent union business needs to be shared. Members are given at least 48 hours notice via a poster/agenda on the CUPE board. These meetings are also held at the Legion.
